It will most likely last a lifetime with no maintenance. I don't have a wood stove anymore, but I used it for years and it is absolutely amazing. You simply drive one of your car or truck wheels onto a set of rollers (takes a few seconds). No tools or assembly required, it's that simple! Then one person sits in the driver's seat to control the speed of a large screw that the car wheel will turn. The other person feeds the log into the screw. As soon as the screw grabs, the log splits a few seconds later. You can split logs almost as fast as you can feed them in.
